Welcome to the Records Department of the Clerk's office. There are three divisions in the Records Department dedicated to preserving records; The Recording Division, the Records Management Division and the Historical Resources Division.
Each Division has unique functions in the preservation of records. The Recording Division records documents into the Official Record such as deeds, mortgages and court judgements. Images of Official Records are available on the internet and on-site research. Only those images authorized by Florida Statute to be made publicly available can be accessed via the internet. There are public access research stations located at the Courthouse in Inverness and the Clerk's satellite location in Crystal River. See location link for contact information and address.
The Records Management Division is responsible for the life cycle of records for the Clerk's office, from filing to filming to final disposition. Records with permanent retention such as Court files, Official Records, and financial documents are filmed for archival purposes as set forth by Florida Statutes.
The Historical Resources Division is located in the Historic 1912 Courthouse. The historic archive houses a collection of historical records, original plat maps and aerial photographs.
