Betty Strifler has served Citrus County as Clerk of the Circuit Court since 1989 and received the designation of Certified Clerk of the Circuit Court from the Florida Supreme Court in 1990. She graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Education, achieved Certification in Public Management from Florida State University in 1991, and earned her MBA from Saint Leo University in 1996. Mrs. Strifler is also a 1991 graduate of Leadership Citrus.
Mrs. Strifler presided over the Florida Association of Court Clerks and Comptroller (FACC) as President in 1999. She has previously served as Chairman of the FACC Legislative Committee, Communication Committee, and Education Committee. Currently serving as Chair of the FACC's Best Practices Committee, Mrs. Strifler is also a member of the Legislative, Child Support, and Constitution & Bylaws committees.
In July of 2003, former Governor Jeb Bush appointed Mrs. Strifler to the District Board of Trustees for Central Florida Community College. In August 2007, Governor Charlie Crist reappointed the Clerk to an additional four-year term.
