October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month: The Florida Clerks & Comptrollers are taking proactive steps to ensure everyone is aware that the Clerks of the Court offices are accessible as local resources to community members who are both directly and indirectly affected by domestic violence year-round.
We invite you to help us raise awareness by wearing PURPLE throughout the month of October and to consider participating in local events in support of local organizations ...instrumental in providing assistance to those in need in our community.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please contact your local Clerk’s office, certified domestic violence center, or the statewide Florida Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-500-1119, which has trained advocates available 24/7. In Citrus County, our certified domestic violence center is CASA, and you can contact them directly: 24 Hour Hotline: 352-344-8111.
The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence (FCADV), sec. 39.902, Fla. Stat., is the official statewide organization that oversees funding, training, policy recommendations and community awareness to support Florida’s DV Shelters. You may make a donation to FCADV by accessing their website at http://www.fcadv.org.
Please also continue to check our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CitrusCountyClerk throughout the month for additional information.
